Caroline Baltzer, Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist

Appointment Information

Generally, a patient is given a dedicated regular time for their psychotherapy each week. Please contact Dr. Baltzer through this website for inquiries about initial appointments and she will follow-up with you by phone. For regular patients, they should communicate about scheduling matters via phone, 617-438-7501. Dr. Baltzer makes every efforts to accommodate patients with appointments as quickly as possible.

Dr. Baltzer also offers videoconferencing for patients who are located outside the Boston metropolitan area.

For Established Patients

If you are an established patient of mine and you need to reach me about a clinical matter or scheduling, do not use email. Instead, please call or communicate by text. Emails are not always read on a daily basis. You may leave me a voice mail, and I will get back to you as soon as possible most always within 24 hours. Please be aware that electronic communication is not necessarily 100% confidential.

If you have an emergency or crisis and cannot immediately reach me by phone, you (or your friends or family members) should call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department and arrange to have the staff be in contact with me.

Directions

My office at 158 Mount Auburn Street is in a gray Victorian building with a front porch located three blocks from Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA. It is located between the cross streets of Hawthorne and Ash on the side nearest the Charles River. (Mount Auburn Hospital is a few blocks further down Mt. Auburn St. and “Darwin’s” is a close neighbor.) There are two front doors, and #158 is the right-hand side door. No need to ring the bell, just come in and there is a waiting room on the first floor. I will come down to meet you at the appointment time.

There is meter-parking on Mt. Auburn St. which usually is available, or you can use the parking garages at either Mt. Auburn Hospital or The Charles Hotel, both of which are three blocks away on either side.

If you are taking the T (subway), you will take the Red Line to Harvard Square and exit at Church St., walk down Church, across Brattle St. across to Story St. and at the end of Story, turn right down Mt. Auburn. The office will be on your left before you get to the parks. This takes about 10-15 minutes.

There is also a MBTA bus stop right out in front of my building. The #73 and #71 bus stops here.
